Benefits with the card

Below is a list of partners offering benefits to European Disability Card holders. Would you like to know which benefits they offer? Take a look on their website or contact them directly. We update the list regularly, but some partners may not yet be listed. Moreover, there are also organisations, institutions, etc. that do not use the European Disability Card, but still offer benefits or assistance to people with disabilities. So ask about it when you want to participate in an activity.

Municipality of Rijkevorsel

Local government Rijkevorsel organizes numerous activities for young and old. Displaying the EDC card provides numerous benefits, such as customized guidance. In consultation with the person in possession of the EDC card, we try to provide adapted facilities as well as possible.

LDC Zonneheem
- The service centre is maximally accessible (electric entrance doors, adapted toilet, lift and all premises, including cafeteria and restaurant, have wide doors).
- Persons with disabilities can also visit our hairdresser and chiropodist.
- For the organisation of Transport Op Maat we have 2 buses with lift systems.
- Leisure organisation vzw Oranje organises a monthly activity in Zonneheem. The vzw Oranje group also takes part in other activities.
- In our programming, we have an eye for everyone's talent.
- Talk cafes go on on a regular basis.
- The memory choir is a mixed group; this initiative has participants from psychiatric hospital Sint-Jan and HanNAH, among others.

De Lijn

De Lijn recognises the EDC as a way of indicating to the driver or inspector that you are a passenger with a disability. This can be useful because not every disability is immediately visible. The driver or inspector will recognise the card and will take it into account in his or her dealings with you.

- access to the container park by a third party, provided that the identity card of the person needing care and an attestation or the EDC card are shown.
